New York City is known as the city that never sleeps. But where can someone go when they just want to slow down and take it easy and not necessarily sleep? For the developers behind the newest Margaritaville development, they hope most people choose Times Square.
According to a recent globest.com report, Orlando, Florida based Margaritaville holdings announced its plans to move forward with a 29 story development in New York City. The new building will be located at 560 Seventh Avenue in the heart of Times Square.
The Margaritaville brand is inspired by the lyrics of the song bearing its name as well as the lifestyle of singer and songwriter Jimmy Buffet. When completed, the property will feature several Margaritaville food concepts, including a LandShark Bar & Grill, 5 o’clock Somewhere Bar, Floriday’s Airstream Bar and a new concept bar simply named Chill.
No Jimmy Buffet themed resort would be complete without relaxation, which is why the property will also include a St. Somewhere spa along with a rooftop deck. Developers believe that the image and consumer following behind the brand will make Margaritaville a top destination that will bring additional tourism to a popular area.
It remains to be seen how much the project will cost and an anticipated completion date was not announced. Nevertheless, the prospect of bringing such a unique brand to New York City exemplifies the need for experienced real estate attorneys to provide advice and guidance to make large scale commercial projects a reality.
